Members of the MYO and MYJO may also participate in an ensemble outside of the larger group. There are numerous opportunities to work with guest artists and to perform new compositions each season. Students must be a member of their school music organization on their GBP/JPY orchestra instrument OR be enrolled in ongoing private lessons if no school. Membership is open to students in or below grade 12. The MYO, MYJO, and PSO take Music To Go Tours to many area schools in order to provide free, live musical education opportunities to school children. Admission into the Murfreesboro Youth Orchestra, Murfreesboro Youth Jazz Orchestra, and Preparatory String Orchestra is by audition only. PROGRAMS All orchestras perform two subscription concerts each season in the Hinton Music Hall in the Wright Music Building (MTSU School of Music) on the MTSU campus.
